Title: A MOTION appointing committees to write a voters pamphlet statement for the November 3, 2015 special election regarding Ordinance 18088 providing for the submission to the electorate of King County, at a special election on November 3, 2015, of a proposition authorizing a property tax levy in excess of the levy limitations contained in chapter 84.55 RCW for a consecutive six-year period at a first year rate of not more than 14 cents per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation, and limiting annual levy increases to three percent in the five succeeding years, all for the purpose of funding prevention and early intervention strategies to improve the health and well-being of children, youth and their communities.

Title

A MOTION appointing committees to write a voters pamphlet statement for the November 3, 2015 special election regarding Ordinance 18088 providing for the submission to the electorate of King County, at a special election on November 3, 2015, of a proposition  authorizing a property tax levy in excess of the levy limitations contained in chapter 84.55 RCW for a consecutive six-year period at a first year rate of not more than 14 cents per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation, and limiting annual levy increases to three percent in the five succeeding years, all for the purpose of funding prevention and early intervention strategies to improve the health and well-being of children, youth and their communities.

Body

                     WHEREAS, K.C.C. chapter 1.10 provides for the publication and distribution of local voters pamphlets in conformity with the provisions of chapter 29A.32 RCW for annual general elections held in King County, and

                     WHEREAS 29A.32.280 provides that for each measure from a jurisdiction that is included in a local voters pamphlet, the legislative authority of that jurisdiction shall formally appoint a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter approval of the measure and a committee to prepare arguments advocating voter rejection of the measure, and

                     WHEREAS Ordinance 18088 provides for submission to the voters on November 3, 2015, of a proposed property tax levy for the purpose of funding prevention and early intervention strategies to improve the health and well-being of children, youth and their communities;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:

                     The following individuals are appointed to serve on the voters pamphlet

 

committee to write a statement for and against the proposed ordinance:
