Title
A MOTION approving the first of four semiannual reports on the department's limited English proficiency outreach efforts prepared by the department of elections as required in the 2015/2016 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17941, Section 34, Proviso P2.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2015/2016 Biennial Budget Ordinance, Ordinance 17941,
Section 34, Proviso P2, requires the director of elections to transmit four semiannual reports on the department's limited English proficiency outreach efforts, and the first of these reports was due by June 30, 2015, and
WHEREAS, the proviso response reports shall include, but not be limited to, a description of the department's limited English proficiency outreach efforts detailed in section IV of the report transmitted to council by the department in June 2014 (2014-RPT0080) in response to Ordinance 17695, Section 33, Proviso P1, as well as goals and outcomes for each of those efforts, and
WHEREAS, the director of elections has transmitted to the council its first report that contains the required information responding to the proviso, and
WHEREAS, the council has reviewed the department of elections report;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
The first of the four limited English proficiency outreach reports responding to the
2015-2016 budget proviso, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby approved.
