Title
A MOTION reappointing Sophia Byrd McSherry to the King County public defense advisory board, representing the Washington State Office of Public Defense.
Body
WHEREAS, Sophia Byrd McSherry was appointed by the county executive to an initial one-year term on the King County public defense advisory board, representing the Washington State Office of Public Defense, and her appointment was confirmed by the county council on July 14, 2014, by Motion 14176, and
WHEREAS, K.C.C. 2.60.031.E. provides in part that the county council may reappoint public defense advisory board members for additional three-year terms, and
WHEREAS, the King County Bar Association has expressed its support for Sophia Byrd McSherry to continue to represent the Washington State Office of Public Defense on the public defense advisory board and for the county council to reappoint her to a full three-year term, and Sophia Byrd McSherry has expressed her willingness to serve an additional, three-year term on the board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
Sophia Byrd McSherry is hereby reappointed to the King County public defense
advisory board, representing the Washington State Office of Public Defense, to a three-year term to expire on June 30, 2018.
