A MOTION confirming the membership for the task force to review the executive's low-income fare program implementation plan.

      WHEREAS, King County is responsible for the Metro transit system, which has a mission to provide the best possible public transportation services and improve regional mobility and quality of life in King County, and
      WHEREAS, the King County Metro Transit 2013 Strategic Plan, strategy 2.1.2, directs transit to provide travel opportunities and supporting amenities for historically disadvantaged populations, such as low-income people, students, youth, seniors, people of color, people with disabilities, and others with limited transportation options, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757, enacted on March 6, 2014, revised the rates of fare for public transportation and instituted a low-income fare program, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17757 also created a task force to submit a report by August 15, 2014, reviewing the executive's low-income fare program implementation plan, and
      WHEREAS, the report submitted by the task force must review the plan's effectiveness in promoting awareness of the low-income fare program to stakeholder communities in King County and the process for establishing eligibility including a review of potential locations where consumers may seek eligibility to participate in the program, and may include recommendations on modifications to the plan developed in consultation with the executive;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The membership for the task force with the following representation as outlined in Attachment A to this motion is hereby confirmed.
