A MOTION relating to public transportation, accepting the Alternative Passenger Crowding Measures Report.

      WHEREAS, in July 2011, via Ordinance 17143, the council adopted the King County Metro Strategic Plan for Public Transportation 2011-2021 ("the strategic plan") and the King County Metro Service Guidelines ("the service guidelines"), and
      WHEREAS, in August 2013, via Ordinance 17641, the council adopted updates to the strategic plan and the service guidelines, and
      WHEREAS, the service guidelines include measures to identify passenger crowding and transit service investment needs to address passenger crowding, and
      WHEREAS, Ordinance 17641, Section 4, directed the executive to transmit to the council by April 30, 2014, for acknowledgement of receipt by motion, a report evaluating alternative measures for use in identifying crowded services and the related transit service investment needs, and
      WHEREAS, transit division staff compiled the required information and developed a report evaluating alternative measures for use in identifying crowded service and the related transit service investment needs;
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MOVED by the Council of King County:
      The Alternative Passenger Crowding Measures Report, which is Attachment A to this motion, is hereby accepted.
